I finally went out and tended to my garden for a short while today. I've been neglecting it all summer, so I could just tell that it was plotting to rise up against me very soon. The weeds are absolutely awful and I have half a mind to just let it grow over and try to fix it all next summer, but I've never been that sort of person.
I really think that Dora enjoyed the time outside as well. It has been a while since she has been able to just run around and play on the tire swing. Hopefully all of the fresh air means that she'll fall asleep early tonight.
Does it make me a bad mother for hoping something like that? It very well could.

I'm sorry - I don't mean to be a bother, but Sirius just informed me that my daughter is being threatened by Fenrir Greyback. Given our situation when it comes to my family and my talent of seeing only the worst possible outcome to every situation, Ted and I have more wards on our house than is likely allowable. However, we would appreciate any checking of wards or maybe adding any of you might be able to do if you have time to come over and check or anything.
Like I said, I'm sorry to be a bother but I'm about to lose my but it would be appreciated.

I would like to state for the record that I am no way associated with the Society for the Promotion of Muggleborn Welfare. I have no problems with Muggleborns, Muggles, halfbloods, purebloods, monkeys, horses - whatever. But I did not give them permission to cite me during any sort of interview and I do not appreciate it.
I would also like to say that "a muggleborn" that I married has a name - Theodore - and I would appreciate it if perhaps people would remember that rather than reducing him to nothing more than his blood status that he had no control over. He is a human being, a wonderful husband and father, and - what more - a wizard.
And, finally, I would also like to point out that perhaps it is time that we get past our house prejudices and stop placing them within a box due to house stereotypes. It's juvenile, immature, and just plain stupid. I would only hope that people would understand that there is more to a Hufflepuff than being friendly, more to a Ravenclaw than being smart, more to a Gryffindor for being brave, and more to a Slytherin than being ambitious. After all, wasn't that what Slytherin is known for? I don't recall any of the Sorting Hat's songs during my seven years at Hogwarts being about blood purity. (Or is that just because it's hard to find a rhyme for purity?)
Anyway, that is all.
